ARTICLE 1:RICE - It’s a Small Wonder (By Angeline Foo)

"For centuries, rice remained a staple in mainstream Asian diets. Low in sodium and fat, rice belongs to a group of starchy foods such as bread, pasta, potatoes, and cereals. An old wives traditional recipe that kept Southeast Asian woman looking youthful is bedak sejuk (cooling powder). Made purely of ground rice and scented with dried pandan leaves and jasmine, bedak sejuk helps to shrink pores, smoothen skin, provide whitening and cooling effects and minimizes pimples and oil on the skin. Bedak sejuk can easily be obtained at any Chinese herbal shop or pharmacies."


MY COMMENT

For your information, I already look by myself how the processed of bedak sejuk. This is because my grandmother also does it by herself and she showed me how it makes up. And you know what; I already put it on my skin. It is true what are folk tradition says although there has been no scientific proof yet, those who grew up in Asia believe that rice possess some medicinal properties for certain ailments.
